PRP VAMPIRE FACIAL
What is PRP (Vampire Facial?

Platelet rich plasma (PRP) is a form of regenerative therapy where patients own blood is used to harvest the plasma, rich in platelets, which in turn promotes tissue repair and collagen growth. This procedure has been nicknamed Vampire facelift due to the use of patients own blood.

It a popular procedure as nothing artificial is being injected and the chances of major side effects is minimal.
What does the treatment involve?

After a full medical history and a treatment plan is established the area to be treated is cleaned and a topical anaesthetic cream is applied for 30-45 min. The doctor then draws 10mls of blood usually from the arm and inserts it into a special machine called a Centrifuge to separate the plasma.

The platelet rich plasma is then separated and injected in to the desired areas. The injected area then covered with plasma and should be left in place till the next day. The whole treatment lasts between 60-90 minutes.

The separated plasma is often referred to as 'Liquid Gold' due to its colour. This plasma liquid is rich in the patients own platelets, protein and growth factors.
